January 2008 brought with it a huge amount of unseasonal rains to the Lismore and Northern Rivers district in New South Wales. The Airview Aviation team and their innovative "Fire Eye" system was immediately tasked through the Rural Fire Service air desk to assist the State Emergency Service in their rescue and emergency management efforts. Thankfully the flood waters were quick to recede and locals were able to start returning to inundated areas within a week. Airview provided real time reconnassance and visual assistance throughout the tasking period and returned to their Bankstown base once the emergency had diminshed.
